我很荣幸的邀请您参加于2012年9月18日至21日在中国天津举行的发展中国家科学院（TWAS）第十二届全体会议和第二十三届院士大会。TWAS委员会会议将于9月17日举行。附件为会议的第一轮通知以及会议注册表和签证信息表。会议初步日程将于3月底发送给您。
请填写好初步注册表并请于2012年4月1日前提交给TWAS办公室。此次会议由中国科学院主办，我很高兴的通知您主办单位将负担您与会期间的食宿费用。
另外，根据参会人员的要求，对附件中所列的科技不发达国家的参会人员，会有小部分的旅行资助。若需要此类资助，请在注册表中表明。
所有参会人员应于2012年9月17日抵达天津，于22日离开天津。但参加委员会和理事会的院士应于9月16日抵达，22日离开。
若需要入境签证，请与最近的中国大使馆/领事馆联系，并请填好附件中的签证申请表。请于2012年7月1日前将该表返回到天津大会秘书处。秘书处会发送会议邀请信，凭此信，可前往最近的中国大使馆或领事馆申请签证。

Dear TWAS Member,
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to attend the 12th General Conference and 23rd General Meeting of TWAS which will be held in Tianjin, China, during the period 18-21 September 2012. The Meetings of TWAS Committees and Council will be held on 17th September. Kindly find attached the First Circular which provides some general information as well as the preliminary registration and visa information forms. The tentative programme will be sent to you in late March.
To register for the event, kindly complete the attached Preliminary Registration Form and return it to the TWAS Office at
annualmeetings@twas.org by 1 April 2012.
The meeting is being generously hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and I am pleased to inform you that our hosts will kindly cover the cost of your accommodation and meals for the period of the meeting.
In addition, a small number of partial travel grants will be provided upon request to participants from the S&T-lagging countries which are listed in the attached preliminary registration form. If you are entitled and require such support, please specify your request on the form.
All participants should arrange to arrive in Tianjin on 17 September 2012 and leave on 22 September. However, TWAS Members involved in Committees and Council Meetings on 17 September should arrive on 16th September and depart on 22 September.
In the meantime, please check with the nearest Chinese Embassy/Consulate if you require an entry visa and if so, please complete the attached Visa Information Form (one per person travelling). The form must be returned to the Secretariat of the TWAS Tianjin Meeting in China at email:
fu_x@tib.cas.cn by 1 July 2012. The Secretariat will then send you a formal letter of invitation. With this invitation letter and the necessary documents, you may then contact the closest Chinese Embassy/consulate for visa application to China.
